true. For some reason when I copied and renamed the file it worked; when I did it again, it didn’t. So I just installed the 32bit version and now my old .dds files open too–which they weren’t. Thanks!

Try renaming the file to dds32.8bi. I didn’t see a “dds.8bi” file like he mentioned; I only saw dds64.8bi. I copied and renamed it in the (x86) version of PS and it worked. Now I can make .tga files into .dds files” and reopen them again in PS.

I can now make and reopend .dds files in PSCS4, I just can’t open old ones still–I’m half way back to my old rig. Try renaming the file to dds32.8bi.
